tia kramer: paper jewelry
sustainable intentions
...................................................................

I aim to affect individual lives by making objects of beauty with conscience. I am committed to running a holistically sustainable business. My efforts include:

Use of primarily recycled sterling silver

All paper is made using all-natural, biodegradable pulp

Packing supplies, gift boxes, shipping boxes and papers are recycled or reused

Paper, raw materials and office supplies are sourced from companies with eco-friendly practices

Production uses very little electricity or machinery

In addition to these manufacturing processes, I also take a whole-system approach to sustainability. I aim to model sustainability through my lifestyle choices. I pack a healthy, homemade lunch, bicycle commute to work, donate jewelry and money to local causes, patronize other sustainable businesses, build and retain relationships with the community and fellow jewelers, and try to maintain a healthy balance between my work and my personal life.

A sustainable art practice isn't just about the objects I create. Rather, I believe that how I manage my resources, how I pay my employees and myself, as well as how I manage my personal life are all important factors in growing a rich flourishing artistic practice and community.

I find great joy in my work and love what I do. I hope these adornments bring joy to you and those who interact with you each day.

May the fulfilling happiness I find while making these little sculptures be passed on to you.
